We have an advocacy worker who can visit people in their own homes. She can provide support with specific things like filling in forms or making complaints and accessing services. We can help people consider their options and assist them with getting information.
Our general focus is health, housing and well-being but we try to assist with whatever you need.
We also carry out group advocacy. We hold hot pot lunches for people from East Manchester of 55 and over, and their carers. Each Hot Pot event has a theme and we will usually invite two or three speakers around this theme. We provide a Hot Pot lunch (or a vegetarian option) and information about local services and events.
The Hot Pot lunches are one of the main ways in which we find out what people are concerned about and what solutions they might have to address some of the issues this community faces.
