Sure Steps
Manchester Care & Repair’s Home Safety Assessors are also experienced in dealing with safety issues relating to young children, as well as older people. Over recent years we have trained a large number of professionals, such as SureStart staff and Health Visitors, to carry out safety assessments.
If you have a child aged 4 or under you can be referred to this scheme and, if assessed as in need, we will arrange for a contractor to fit accident prevention equipment in your home. The following are the types of equipment that we can provide free of charge:
- Stair gates
- Door guards
- Window locks (for wooden frames only)
- Fridge locks
- Table corner cushions
- Fire guards
- Smoke alarms
- Socket covers
- Cupboard locks
