Minor Works Assistance (MWA) Loans
MWA is available to Manchester homeowners in receipt of an income-related benefit for the purpose of carrying out necessary works to your home.
The loan is interest-free and is only paid back when you sell your house and can be used for:
- Replacing/ upgrading electrics and electrical installations
- Upgrading gas installations
- Repairs to windows
- Drainage defects
- Rebuilding yard walls
- Replacing/ repairing guttering
- Minor roof repairs
- Repairs to plumbing and small general building repairs
We can help you to select a reputable and trustworthy contractor (builders, plumbers, roofers, electricians and so on) and will supervise the work whilst it is in progress. We charge a small fee for this service, which can be included in the loan amount.
