Advocacy
The Generation Project has two Advocacy and Information Workers who can visit older people in their own homes. Our Advocates can provide help and support with specific things like filling in forms, making complaints, staying independent at home or accessing services.
We listen to older people’s issues and problems, help them consider their options and assist them with getting information to allow them to make a choice.
Our general focus is health, housing and well-being but we try to assist you with whatever you need and can refer and signpost you to other services (for example, to tenancy support, re-enablement service, pensions service). We can also offer you information, advice and guidance about welfare benefits, and about making applications for benefits, to which you are entitled but not claiming.
We can visit you in your own home and even help with form-filling! We can give you information about Community Care Grants, Pension Credit, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Council Tax Credit and Housing Benefit.
Our services are free.
