Contractor Advice

Are you afraid of being exploited by unscrupulous tradesmen or cowboy builders? If so, why not contact us for the names of reputable contractors?

We hold a list of contractors (electricians, roofers, builders, plumbers and so on) who have been recommended to us by people who have used their services. We have checked their level of competence as well as taking up character references and checking that they have relevant insurance cover.

We can give you the names of two or more contractors so you can contact them direct. We will also send you our booklet about choosing contractors and what to do if things go wrong. This information is given in good faith but should you experience difficulties with any of the contractors whose names we have given you, we will assist in sorting out the problem.

The contractors on our list have agreed that we will carry out random inspections and that all clients are encouraged to give feedback through our client satisfaction survey forms.
