Minor Adaptations
Minor adaptations help people deal with mobility problems at home. They include items such as:
- Bed and chair raisers
- Grab/ hand rails
- Toilet frames
- Stair (banister) rails
- Key safes
- Half steps
- Ramps to improve access when walking or using a wheelchair
We supply and fit the majority of minor adaptations on behalf of Trafford Council. Clients who have been referred to us by Occupational Therapists have the work carried out free of charge – the council pays. If you are disabled or you have mobility problems then contact the One Stop Resource Centre on 0845 299 0798 to see if you qualify.
If you cannot wait for an Occupational Therapist to assess your needs, or you prefer to fund the work yourself, then contact us for a quotation. In the case of furniture raisers we would need to assess the job first as the equipment we use will be determined by the type and size of your individual piece of furniture. Our Handypeople are trained assessors.
