Major Adaptations
If you are disabled we might be able to give you advice, help and support with adapting your property to meet your needs. We have given support to clients who have funded the work themselves as well as helping other clients whose adaptation has been funded by a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG).
Our adaptation work has included installing; stair lifts; level-access (walk-in) showers; wet rooms; downstairs toilets; and small building extensions.
If the work is being funded via a DFG then we would normally receive the referral from Trafford Town Hall. Our Caseworkers will visit you at home and help you with the application form and other paperwork. We will also create technical drawings and specifications, as well as getting quotations from contractors for the work. If the DFG is approved we will then ensure that the work is carried out to a good standard.
If you are paying for an adaptation yourself then we will charge a fee for the technical input and project management, but we will always inform you of the cost before work commences.
