Wigan Services
Wigan Borough Care & Repair are a Home Improvement Agency and our team of dedicated staff want to help you to remain independent. We want to ensure that your home is warm, safe, secure and adapted to your needs. We can also help with welfare benefit claims and applications to charitable trusts and if you decide that remaining in your current home is no longer appropriate we can help you to explore alternative housing options.
The new service gives Wigan residents:
- A new free Home Improvement agency service which will provide support with arranging home repairs and adaptations through a building contractor
- An Advice & Assistance service which will help older people benefit from easier access to services and welfare benefits
- A Handyperson service costing only £15 per visit plus the cost of materials used
And…
- The borough will use our service to deliver all the “minor adaptations” it provides for local residents, however you can not self refer for this service
Our clients are residents who are aged 60 or over or who are disabled, and are normally owner-occupiers or private tenants, although many of our services are available to older people of any tenure – including council and housing association tenants.
