If you are a home-owner or a private tenant we can offer help and advice on all manner of property repairs, improvements and adaptations. We can survey your property, give advice on what work is required and the estimated cost.
We will work with you to identify the work that is required. We can assist you in finding reliable contractors and obtain quotations. We can draw up a schedule of the work so that contractors are clear about what is needed. We can advise you on planning and building regulations and make sure that the work is done properly. Our caseworker support will help you to cope with any disruption caused by building works.
The types of work that we commonly deal with are listed below, but this is by no means an exhaustive list.
- Roofs, gutters and drains
- New windows and doors(or repairs to existing)
- Electrics, heating and plumbing
If you are eligible for the above advisory services (usually aged over 60 or living with a disability) they are free of charge. We cannot pay for building or repair works but we can help you to avoid rogue traders and cowboy builders.
