Chief Executive Announces Retirement

Maggie Walker, long-standing Chief Executive of Manchester Care & Repair is retiring from the organisation in May 2013.

Maggie joined Manchester Care & Repair in 1999 and has led the charity’s commitment to practical support for older and disabled people to help them to live independently at home.

Maggie is handing over the reins at Care & Repair to her colleague Services Director, Janette Linacre. Janette is already very well known to clients and partners locally and nationally. She has directed Care & Repair activity in the Midlands and Greater Manchester for over 9 years.

Phil Laker, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Manchester Care & Repair said,

“Care & Repair’s support for older people in getting small jobs and building work done in their home has been a life-line for thousands of residents each year. Maggie has played a key role in developing our services and we wish her well. We are very fortunate to have a strong successor in Janette who will lead our future plans”
