HandyHelp
Our referenced and DBS-checked Handyperson will make an appointment to visit you at home to discuss the work you’d like carried out.
The kinds of small jobs and repairs that our Handyman can do for you include the following (but this is not an exhaustive list):
- Free Home Safety Equipment
- Limited brickwork and patch plastering
- Gates (repair, replacing broken hinges, fitting padbolts and padlocks)
- Fitting curtain rails and blinds and replacing light bulbs
- Drainage works (e.g. unblocking sinks or gullies) and small heating and plumbing issues (e.g. bleeding radiators, replacing taps and tightening washers, attending to leaking toilets)
- Internal doors (e.g fitting door furniture, security measures and draught-proofing)
- Furniture repair (and small flat pack assembly) and internal joinery (e.g. erecting shelving and re-fixing loose floorboards)
- Dementia Friendly Homes – small aids and adaptations designed for people living with dementia. All referrals to this service must be made by a relevant health professional.
Most types of minor repair and small jobs are covered and the services of our staff are completely free (you will pay for materials only).
We will source the materials for you if you are unsure what’s needed for the job. The HandyHelp service is available to any over sixty in Manchester regardless of income.
To increase the amount of time the handyperson can spend in your property, if appropriate, it would be appreciated if the client could source the required materials for the work beforehand. If you are unsure, call and ask!
